Rosemary – NJ Corporate Portraits / Headshots
A few weeks back, Rosemary contacted us about getting some headshots done for an upcoming presentation she was giving on fraud in the banking industry. She mentioned that she had found us online and that the photo would go in a brochure for the conference she would be speaking at. Like a lot of folks who call us, she was nervous to have her photo taken. After seeing some of our work and having a chance to chat with me, she said she felt more at ease.
Rosemary was super cool, and we hit it off instantly! She explained that although she works in banking fraud, something she freely admit was neither glamourous nor a daily thrill-ride, she was hoping her photos could show a bit of personality. She didn’t want to look stuffy or boring, and in photographing her, I can tell you… she definitely isn’t either of those. We had a great time working together, and she was really happy with her final images. She loved the warm, friendly expression in her final pick. Here’s some of what we came up with…

Lauren – NJ Corporate Portraits / Headshots
Lauren is a hair stylist and permanent makeup artist based out of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and she is terrific at what she does. I know this first hand, because she cut my hair for years when she worked in Medford. When it comes to hair, I’m no Patrick Dempsey, and this isn’t Grey’s Anatomy… It’s rare that I’ve found someone who can make me happy with a haircut, and Lauren is one of those people. I’m sure she does just as awesome of a job at permanent makeup, but I’m not planning on being a new client! You can visit her website at lstarrbeauty.com
Since her business has been picking up lately, Lauren decided she would swing by and get a professional headshot. I’m really glad she called me up, because it was really great to see her. It was nice to have a chance to chat, catch up, and get her some headshots. In the end, she was super happy, and I’m glad I could have a chance to make her look good in photos since she’s made my hair look great for so long! Here’s some of Lauren’s photos!

Collingswood, NJ Real Estate Photography Session
Every once in a while, the stars seem to align, and everything seems to go right at a photo session. This is exactly how I felt about my recent real estate photography session in Collingswood, NJ. Even the weather co-operated! You may remember our clients Dan & Carrie from their Corporate Portraits / Headshots session back in February. Veterinarians looking to relocate to Idaho, they first came to us for some high key, black and white headshots. They were very happy with the results and upon seeing our work with real estate photography, they decided to hire us again to photograph their home. The were, of course, looking to help it sell as quickly & easily as possible.
I was very happy to head out & get them some beautiful photos of their home. I really enjoyed photographing the house, and since we had a great time working together previously, I knew this would be a good experience! While I worked, we had a chance to chat about some of the home’s features. Their house had some really cool design, and Dan mentioned to me that he had done quite a bit of work to it since they had moved in some years ago. Dan & Carrie’s home was bright, colorful, and welcoming, and I am sure they will have little trouble selling it.
They even had a room with a Murphy bed… remember those things? – the really cool beds with the hinge that fold up to the wall! Anyway, here are some of my favorite shots from the session! Normally, I don’t post as many photos… but this house was just so cool!

Philadelphia Model Photography Instructional
A few weeks back, I headed over to see my friends at Photographers in Philadelphia Studio, a terrific group of photographers just over the bridge in Philly. My friend Mark, a former photojournalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, heads up the group, and he was giving an instructional on model photography. It was a great opportunity to learn more, not just about how to photograph models, but also to practice visualizing, posing, & communicating with a subject. We love opportunities to learn and grow, and I was excited to head over and get in some more practice with some great models. Here’s a few of my favorite shots from the trip over the bridge!

Corporate Portraits / Headshots Session – NJ Mortgage Sales Manager
Matt is a sales manager for AnnieMac Home Mortgage in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and he was referred to us by a friend for some new headshots. He’s a charismatic guy with a great personality, and we’re really glad we had the chance to work with him. He & his girlfriend stopped by the studio a few weeks back, and the session went great. They had a good time, and he remarked how quick and painless the process was.
Part of my approach to studio portraits & headshots is to make our clients as feel comfortable as possible while bringing out (and enhancing) their best traits. This was easy with Matt, because he brought a lot of personality to the table. Matt wanted to try out a number of different looks… different suits & jackets, something we don’t mind at all. Some studios are strict about the number of outfits the clients can try, but for me, it’s more about making sure the client gets the look they want… one that makes them feel great. I’m there to get them an image that makes them look and feel awesome. Period. In the end, we were done in under 30 minutes anyway, a double-win (since we usually schedule headshots for half hour sessions). Altogether, the shoot went really well. Here’s some of what we came up with…
